What are alu cleaner and alu wax – and when should you use which?

Alu cleaner and alu wax are two different things that are typically used one after the other. Alu cleaner is used to remove dirt, pollen, grease stains and weathering from the aluminium surface – that is step one. Alu wax is then applied to the clean, dry surface to protect it and preserve the shine – that is step two.

Denwax Clean is your alu cleaner. Denwax Care is your alu wax. Use both for the best and most durable result – or use Denwax Clean alone for ongoing maintenance and cleaning, and Denwax Care 1–2 times a year as a protective treatment.

Note: Denwax Clean does not remove limescale, soot streaks, chalking or yellowing from the aluminium frames if the frames have yellowed over time. Remember to remove all soap residue from Denwax Clean with a damp cloth before applying Denwax Care to the dry, clean surface. If you get the wax (Denwax Care) on the glass, polish it off immediately with a dry cloth.

Clean the painted aluminium surface with Denwax Clean and then make sure to remove all soap residue with a damp cloth. Wipe dry with a dry cloth. Denwax Care – Alu wax for painted aluminium, aluminium windows and aluminium garden furniture

Apply Denwax Care in a thin layer to a dry, clean painted aluminium surface and buff with a dry cloth. Denwax Care is particularly effective as an alu wax for painted aluminium on aluminium windows, aluminium frames, aluminium doors, aluminium gates, aluminium carports, aluminium garden furniture, aluminium gutters and aluminium mailboxes – it protects the painted surface from weathering and keeps the aluminium surface looking fresh and well maintained for much longer.

NOTE: Never apply in direct sunlight during the summer months, and ensure that the item is not overheated by the sun.

Aluminium frames and aluminium windows: When applying Denwax Care to the window frame, make sure not to get it on the glass. If you do get Denwax Care on the glass, polish it off immediately with a dry cloth. In our experience, when washing windows, the wax can risk smearing across the entire pane if it has not been removed beforehand.

Denwax Clean – Cleaning an aluminium awning
